📺 Gary Vee's Blockbuster TV Deal
Gary Vee has been building in silence for what feels like years now.
At least year's VeeCon, Gary was very vocal that his goal was building out IP for children - books, TV shows and more.
Well that building may be coming to fruition.
What Happened?
Yesterday Gary Vee and team announced a new partnership with Moonbug Entertainment to create a content franchise based on VeeFriends IP.
If you don't know Moonbug, they are the global entertainment company behind major kids shows Cocomelon and Blippi (arguably 2 of the most successful in the world).
Here's the TLDR of the announcement:
What: "VeeFriends" will be a 2D-animated show, set in the VeeFriends universe
Who: Show is targeting kids 6-11 and their families
Where: YouTube
When: Scheduled for release Summer 2024
It looks like Gary might actually pull this off.
Why It Matters
Pudgy Penguins have been hailed for their work with Pudgy toys and opening up top of funnel via mainstream expansion.
Well it doesn't get much more mainstream then launching a (potentially) successful children's series.
If the show becomes popular, toys and books will certainly be next. And of course, digital product integration opportunities open up.
This is probably one of the single best outcomes long-term holders of VeeFriends NFTs could hope for.
The market has mostly shrugged it off so far (+5% to 1.09 ETH), but we will see how long that lasts.
💰 Memeland Stakeland Details Arrive
It seemed that Ray and the Memeland team had been cooking up something big for quite some time.
Yesterday we found out what it was - Stakeland.
Stakeland is a "Social Staking Protocol" that is effectively a combination of a staking platform and a token launchpad / project incubator.
With $MEME holders and Memeland community members set up to benefit.
How it works:
Users stake their crypto assets (tokens) for a specific period of time and earn "Steaks"
Users burn those "Steaks" for tokens from new projects (early stage participation)
Users can execute quests to learn more about projects
Actions are 0 fee except for gas
So it does require a bit of active participation for users to receive max benefits, in choosing which projects they want to participate in (stake for).
Those new projects are incentivized to use Stakeland because of the access to Memeland's existing community, investors and existing support system.
The team also offers introduction to market makers, listings teams, tokenomics and more.
With Stakeland v0, the platform will launch with just its most fundamental features.
But with upcoming launches, users can expect new tokens, staking tiers, stablecoin staking, leaderboards, quests and more.
Why It Matters
For one, it's cool.
$MEME holders can effectively become VCs, choosing which projects to stake and get early access tokens for.
For the project, it's a strong flywheel for $MEME itself. As new launchpad projects do well, users who hold those tokens will get richer. Others will see this, and want in - and $MEME is the entrance fee.
Plus it needs to be staked for program access, meaning lower float and sell pressure.
There was some initial push back from some holders who were upset more of the $MEME didn't unlock with the announcement (accrued by NFT holders), which led to a 15% dip in Captainz.
Short term price action aside - Stakeland is set up to be a home run.
Now they just need A-tier projects to incubate.
